What is a Single Hung Window?

The lower sash can moved raised in order to have air flow freely. The lower sash can be meant to tilt in order to be cleaned easily. Single hung windows can come in many sizes and styles.

People will often confuse fixed windows with single hung windows. A fixed window is a window where the one pane of glass is stuck into place.
